Galactus does not destroy Earth-828 in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The Silver Surfer arrives to warn the heroes that Galactus intends to devour the planet, but offers to spare it in exchange for Franklin Richards. When the team refuses, they attempt to relocate Earth using Reed Richards’ “Bridge” technology to delay Galactus.
Galactus ultimately arrives on Earth and engages the Fantastic Four. He defeats the Human Torch and The Thing, severely injures Mister Fantastic, and abducts Franklin. The Invisible Woman uses her force fields to force Galactus toward a teleporter intended to trap him at the edge of the universe. Despite their efforts, Galactus returns, but the Silver Surfer intervenes and sacrifices herself by dragging him into the unknown.
Earth-828 survives Galactus’s assault. The battle fatally strains the Invisible Woman, but Franklin revives her with a brief surge of Power Cosmic. In the final scenes, the team prepares for a public appearance but responds to a new threat, confirming the planet’s survival.
First Steps makes no mention of an incursion. Reed Richards introduces the “Bridge” as a teleportation system and hints at its potential to access parallel realities. The film connects to Avengers: Doomsday, where incursions play a central role.
Earth-828 exists outside the Sacred Timeline. Director Matt Shakman identifies it as a tribute to Jack Kirby’s birthday, August 28. The story unfolds entirely within this alternate reality and does not depict incursions as an active threat. Latveria exists in Earth-828, and Doom appears only in the mid-credits scene, with no indication that he causes planetary destruction.
