Could South Park get canceled after Season 27?

There is no confirmation regarding whether South Park is getting canceled after Season 27.

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, a new deal between the makers of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Paramount has been signed recently. However, it doesn’t state whether the animated series will return for Season 28 or not.

As per the terms of the 5-year deal, South Park will release 50 new episodes on Comedy Central. Additionally, its previous 26 seasons will arrive on Paramount+ for the worldwide audience to stream. Following the deal, Matt Stone said, “Trey and I and the whole South Park crew are grateful for this extension and this deal. We want to thank [Paramount co-CEO and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment] Chris McCarthy and [COO] Keyes Hill-Edgar for years of great partnership and are looking forward to continuing to make South Park for the next five years.”

Trey Parker also expressed his gratitude toward Paramount. He added, “We are deeply honored by the trust placed in us. This is about more than a contract — it’s about our commitment to this organization, our teammates, and our fans. We’re focused on building something special and doing whatever it takes to bring championships to this city.”

Given this recent development, South Park fans can rest assured. As the show doesn’t stand canceled yet, they will likely get to see many more adventures of their favorite characters.
