With the new Superman movie making waves around the globe, many fans are missing Henry Cavill, the actor who played Superman before the DCU. Sadly, for new actor David Corenswet to step up, Henry Cavill had to step aside. But is that the last fans will see of Cavill in DC movies? Here are some of the other characters he could play in the DCU.

All characters Henry Cavill could be in James Gunn’s DC Universe

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz for Happy Sad Confused, James Gunn spoke about Cavill’s exit and the process of delivering this difficult news. Along with that, he also revealed that he would want to bring Henry Cavill back in a different role. Gunn has already done this with Jason Momoa, who will portray Lobo in the new DCU.

Here are five roles that Henry Cavill could potentially take up if he ever decides to join the DCU.

Batman

Perhaps the biggest thing that could happen to the DCU right now would be if Henry Cavill were to switch to Batman. Gunn will bring a new Batman to the DCU, and Cavill fits the bill with his experience, look, and stoic acting, which is a key characteristic of Batman. Moreover, Batman would also be a more age-appropriate role for Cavill.

Apollo

Apollo is a role that would require minimal changes from Cavill’s Man of Steel portrayal. From similar powers to similar characteristics, Henry Cavill would fit right in if the DCU were to cast him as Apollo.

Brainiac

If not Superman, Cavill could still portray one of Superman’s greatest rivals. Brainiac is one of the most prominent DC characters and is often depicted as a superintelligent android from another planet. This is another role Cavill could take on effectively.

Shazam

If the DCU were to bring in Shazam, Cavill could fit the mold of the older superhero. He is a versatile actor and could be a strong candidate for the role. Aquaman
