The Harry Potter series streaming release date is highly anticipated among fans. Francesca Gardiner has created the fantasy series. Moreover, it has plans for a decade-long run and aims to faithfully adapt J.K. Rowling’s books. It will consist of an entirely different cast, bringing to life beloved characters of Harry, Hermione, Ron, Snape, Voldemort, Hagrid, and Dumbledore.

The series recently revealed the first look of Dominic McLaughlin in the Harry Potter attire. He appeared to be wearing the iconic character’s signature glasses and a Hogwarts uniform, giving an adorable smile to the camera while holding a production clapperboard. The filming has begun, and the series could come out sometime in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max.

The series will dedicate an entire season to each book. Gardiner and Mark Myold earlier revealed that they’re looking forward to “really digging into the character arcs.” In particular, they want to explore characters who didn’t get much screen time before and bring their stories to light. The cast of the series includes: McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. Other members are Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, and Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy.

Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, and Bertie Carvel as the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, are also added to the roster. More casting and plot details are yet to be known.
