What Island Is Jurassic World Rebirth Set On?

Like many of the earlier entries in the franchise, Jurassic World Rebirth draws heavily from its setting, i.e., the island it is set on. Though it resembles the islands from the previous movies, this sequel takes place on a completely new island. Here’s what you need to know about Jurassic World Rebirth’s new island setting.

On which island is Jurassic World Rebirth set?

Jurassic World Rebirth clarifies that the island where most of the action takes place is not Isla Nublar, the original site of the dinosaurs, or Isla Sorna, also known as Site B. Instead, the film is set primarily on Site C. This is the first appearance of the site and the island on which it is situated within the film franchise.

A volcanic eruption has already destroyed Isla Nublar, as seen in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and the story confirms that the island in the film is not Isla Sorna. The island featured in the new movie is named Ile Saint-Hubert and is used for research purposes by InGen to develop mutant forms of their dinosaur creations. The tropical environment allows the surviving dinosaurs on the island to thrive, and the film shows several of the mutant hybrid creatures that were created there.

The island in the new movie shares many similarities with the original island from Jurassic Park, though it is mentioned that it was always intended to be kept from the public, as it contained failed experiments that the company felt would harm their image.

Jurassic World Rebirth is playing in theaters now.
