Jurassic World Rebirth Filming Locations: Where Was It Filmed?

Jurassic World Rebirth has finally arrived in theaters, and the stunning landscapes featured in the movie have left fans curious about its filming locations. Similar to its predecessors, the latest installment of the Jurassic Park franchise offers a wide range of visual backdrops in tandem with an exciting story.

So, here’s a breakdown of all the major destinations the filmmakers chose to shoot Jurassic World Rebirth.

List of Jurassic World Rebirth’s filming locations

Here’s a complete list of the locations used for making Jurassic World Rebirth:

  • Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabi, Thailand
  • Ko Kradan at Hat Chao Mai National Park in Trang, Thailand
  • Ao Phang Nga National Park in Phang Nga, Thailand
  • Malta Film Studios in Kalkara, Malta
  • Sky Studios Elstree in London, United Kingdom
  • Lee Valley White Water Centre in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom
  • University of Greenwich, United Kingdom
  • New York City, United States

Before settling on Thailand as the primary filming location, the producers of Jurassic World Rebirth had many other exotic destinations in mind. These included the Dominican Republic, Mauritius, Panama, and even Costa Rica, off whose coast the first-ever Jurassic Park was located.

It was Gareth Edwards, the movie’s director, who suggested filming in Thailand. He had previously shot his 2023 movie, The Creator, there and proposed returning to the country for Rebirth as well. The producers embraced the idea, and principal photography began on June 13, 2024, in the Thai national parks mentioned above.

“When we did the research and saw the landscapes, it felt like this would be perfect for our new Jurassic world. We sent pictures over to [executive producer] Steven Spielberg, he said, ‘We’re done! That’s the place,’” producer Patrick Crowley penned in the movie’s production notes. After wrapping up in Thailand, filming eventually moved to Malta, then the United Kingdom, before finishing off in New York City.

Furthermore, Edwards wanted to film on location as much as possible. This decision further elevated the thrill factor of the movie. “Making a Gareth Edwards movie, you want to find or create places, or both, so that wherever he puts his camera, you’re seeing the world in foreground and background,” production designer James Clyne explains. “He wanted the actors and the audience to feel fully immersed in the reality of the film.”

The seventh installment of the popular franchise, Jurassic World Rebirth, hit theaters on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. It stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein.
