How Riri Williams Creates Natalie AI in Ironheart

Curious to know how Riri Williams created Natalie AI in Ironheart? The superhero series witnesses the return of Riri, after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She attempts to become numb to the pain of losing her stepfather and best friend, Natalie, who lost their lives in a drive-by shooting. Now, she is more determined to build her new armored suit. As she requires an assistant, she builds an AI that reminds her of her deceased friend.

Here’s how she made her best friend’s AI form.

How does Riri Williams create Natalie AI in Ironheart

Riri Williams scanned her mind, feeding her memories into an AI system, and created a holographic version of Natalie. This A.I. form of Natalie aptly mimics her actions and behavior, making her appear realistic.

Natalie, played by Lyric Ross, is Xavier’s sister and a dear friend of Riri’s. Tragedy struck her when she was hit by a series of bullets alongside Riri’s stepfather. However, Natalie returns but now in the form of A.I. assistant to Riri.

In the first three episodes, N.A.T.A.L.I.E has displayed strange behavior here and there. For instance, she glitched when Riri first had a panic attack. But she didn’t, when Riri leaves John to die alone and experiences another round of panic. This raises many questions about why she acts weirdly and how much she is really connected to Riri’s memories.

The comics followed a similar storyline of N.A.T.A.L.I.E.’s creation, where Riri’s brain is scanned and her memories are used to create the AI. In the comics, Riri and Natalie Washington were neighbors and had known each other since they were 10.

They gradually developed a great friendship. However, things took a tragic turn when Riri and Natalie were caught up in an open shooting. This led to Natalie being shot, and she died in Riri’s arms.
