In a rather surprising move, Nick Cannon is replacing Will Arnett as the host of LEGO Masters in Season 6 of the show. Arnett has been the host of LEGO Masters for the past five seasons.
But why is Will Arnett leaving the famous show? There seems to be no clear answer at this point.
Why Will Arnett is leaving and being replaced on Lego Masters
The sixth season of LEGO Masters will be the first one without Will Arnett. Though the network and some crew members spoke about the upcoming season, no one mentioned why Arnett would be departing.
Speaking about the upcoming season, Michael Thorn, President of FOX Television Network, said, “We’re thrilled to bring LEGO Masters back for another season,…Alongside our incredible creative partners, this beloved series continues to captivate audiences. Originally launched with the wonderful Will Arnett, the show now enters an exciting next chapter with Nick Cannon at the helm, who brings a new fun energy to the competition.”
The most likely reason for Will Arnett’s exit is his busy schedule. The actor has a plethora of intriguing projects coming his way. Arnett will write and star in Bradley Cooper‘s next feature, Is This Thing On?, joining Laura Dern, Amy Sedaris, Sean Hayes, and Christine Ebersole, among others. Arnett will also return as the voice of the evil clown Sweet Tooth in Peacock’s Twisted Metal with Anthony Mackie.
With this packed schedule on his hands, Will Arnett possibly decided to step away from the show. But exact details about his departure remain shrouded in mystery.
Nick Cannon, the current host of The Masked Singer, will take over Arnett’s role. Cannon will also continue with The Masked Singer, where he serves as an executive producer. “It’s an honor to join the series and host another show with my FOX family. Season six we’re bringing an action-packed hour full of family fun, passion and for the first time ever, in-person audition episodes. I can’t wait to see the insane creations and give away a big bag of money to the best of the best,” Cannon said in a statement.
