In the sneak peak trailer, Clark Kent rushes through a crowded street and then into the fancy entrance to the Daily Planet, the iconic newspaper of Metropolis. This is actually the modern front of the Leader Building, a 15-story, high-rise building located at 526 Superior Avenue near East 6th Street. The building finished renovations in 2017 and was converted into a combination of apartments, offices, and some retail space.

This now iconic shot of Superman saving a girl from the trailers was taken in front of the 36-story headquarters for Sherwin-Williams in downtown Cleveland. The building is still in the late stages of construction at the time of writing, with the final details to be added in late 2025.

At the end of the trailers, a shot of Superman and Lois Lane kissing can be seen as they float into the air in each other’s arms. This is the signature Cleveland Arcade building (otherwise known as Arcade Cleveland), a Victorian-era structure that opened in May 1890 as the first indoor shopping center in America. A renovation project to restore the landmark, located at 401 Euclid Avenue, was finished in 2001.

Superman is forced to take on a head-on tackle by a villain while fighting in a baseball stadium. Specifically, this is the Progressive Field, the home of the MLB team Cleveland Guardians. The ballpark was originally known as Jacobs Field when it opened in 1994, but it was renamed in 2008 when the Progressive Corporation bought the naming rights. That said, the stadium is still called “The Jake” and has hosted the World Series three times.

Other Cleveland landmarks that can be seen in the trailers include the Detroit-Superior Bridge, Key Tower, and PNC Plaza. In July 2024, production also moved to Cincinnati with additional shooting done at Union Terminal and Lytle Tunnel.

The trailer very quickly revealed a shot of the Kent farm located in Smallville, and in the trailer we see Clark sitting on the porch with Jonathan Kent. An eagle-eyed fan on a DC Reddit was able to figure out that this farm is an altered image of a home in LaGrange, Georgia. In fact, many parts of the Superman 2025 movie was filmed at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, with some supplemental backdrops shot in Macon.

The Fortress of Solitude, Superman’s clandestine base located in the Arctic, has been one of the most prominently featured locations in the trailers so far. The hideout is meant to be located in the Arctic generally near the North Pole, but the environmental shots were taken in Svalbard, Norway.

In a March 2024 interview, James Gunn revealed to a local newspaper called VG.no that he had “filmed the first scenes, which is Superman fleeing to the Fortress of Solitude.” The snowy shots could have been in done in a studio or through CGI alone, so it’s commendable that Gunn decided to film on location instead.
