Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed Mark Ruffalo’s return as Bruce Banner/Hulk in Avengers: Doomsday. The studio left his name out of the March 2025 cast announcement for the film. This omission has sparked speculation that Hulk, a consistent presence in past Avengers films, might not appear in the upcoming crossover.
However, Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus earlier in May 2025 stated on X (formerly Twitter), “Yes. Mark Ruffalo is in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars,” in response to a fan inquiry.
Marvel has not verified this claim. Ruffalo’s last appearance as Hulk was in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022), and his last film cameo was in the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) mid-credits scene.
Further uncertainty stems from a new rumor surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where Ruffalo is reportedly set to star alongside Tom Holland. Reports suggest Hulk’s role in that film will exceed a cameo.
