Will Andor Season 2 Continue to Air on ABC? Broadcast TV Schedule Explained

Some viewers are wondering whether Andor Season 2 will continue to be broadcast on ABC and FX after the first episode aired on both channels on Wednesday, April 23 in a primetime slot. Star Wars TV shows are rather rare, and the high quality of Andor (let’s not forget the first season was Emmy-nominated for Outstanding Drama Series) shows that it is worth being broadcast on traditional networks in primetime. As such, many are hoping to see the drama continue its run on national TV. Here’s whether either network is planning to air the second season of Andor in the future.

Will Andor Season 2 be broadcast in full on ABC or FX?

Unfortunately, there are only plans for Andor Season 2 to broadcast its first episode on ABC and FX, with the remaining episodes only being able available on Disney+.

In essence, the show’s airing on both networks on April 23 was merely a special presentation or a teaser for the Disney+ service. Fans of the series may remember that the first two episodes from the first season were shown on ABC around Thanksgiving 2022. The network does have a history of airing full seasons of shows from Hulu, but it doesn’t look like this will be the case for Andor Season 2.

In fact, chances are slim that ABC and FX will change their minds about this due to unusual release schedule for the second season. With Disney+ dropping three episodes every week, which is like releasing a new movie four times within a month, it would be tough for traditional networks to figure out how to air them outside of the usual weekly release schedule for most shows.

Thus far, the first batch of three episodes for Season 2 has introduced plot threads involving the Ghorman massacre, the Maya Pei Brigade, and the banker Tay Kolma.
