Is Sue Storm pregnant in the upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps? Marvel fans got their answer loud and clear after Marvel Studios dropped a jaw-dropping trailer at CinemaCon. Among some key details, the first full look of Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer was also revealed. The trailer teased the film’s emotional and cosmic stakes. Set to release in July 2025, The Fantastic Four: First Steps serves as the Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of the Fantastic Four film franchise.

So, is Sue Storm pregnant with her and Reed Richards’ son Franklin in The Fantastic Four: First Steps? Here is all you need to know.

Is Sue Storm pregnant with Franklin Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps?

Yes, Sue Storm is pregnant with Franklin Richards in Fantastic Four: The First Steps.

This is revealed in the official trailer for the film, shown off at CinemaCon. Franklin Richards was indirectly referenced in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness by an alternate universe Reed Richards (played by John Krasinski), who told Wanda Maximoff about the existence of his children before being killed by her.

Franklin Benjamin Richards is a crucial character in Marvel Comics, where he is established as one of the universe’s most powerful beings. His first name comes from his maternal grandfather, Sue’s father, Franklin Storm. Meanwhile, his middle name is from his parents’ best friend and fellow Fantastic Four member Benjamin Grimm, aka the Thing. Franklin is capable of altering reality on a pocket-universal scale by simply using his imagination. He has been classified as an Omega-level mutant. Despite having incredible powers, Franklin struggles to control them.

Due to his parents’ superhero career and close work with fellow superheroes like the Avengers, Franklin grows up familiarizing himself with them.

At some point in his life, Franklin subconsciously used his powers to solve a complex puzzle. However, he ended up aging himself to adulthood, becoming a powerful but amnesiac being known as Avatar. As Avatar, Franklin attacked the Fantastic Four, who tried to figure out his identity. After Sue Storm saw him, however, he became a child again. Franklin then put psychic dampers on his brain to limit his powers until he was old enough to control them.

Franklin also has a younger sister named Valeria. Agatha Harkness, a prominent character in Marvel Comics and the MCU who is often associated with the Scarlet Witch, has served as Franklin’s nanny.
