MCU fans have a burning question on their minds after Avengers: Doomsday‘s latest cast announcement: Will any Spider-Man appear? On March 26, Marvel Studios went live and featured empty chairs with confirmed actors’ names written on them for their upcoming multiversal outing. Interestingly, none of the chairs featured the name of any Spider-Man actor, making many wonder if they are entirely excluded from the plot or if the studios are saving them for cameos. So, here’s all you need to know.
Will Tom Holland’s Spider-Man return in Avengers: Doomsday?
According to rumors, Holland’s Spider-Man was expected to lead in Avengers: Doomsday. However, his name was not announced in the latest roll call. However, Robert Downey Jr. recently teased that there is likely more room for talent in the existing roster, and Marvel Studios seems to agree with his statement. So, fans can expect more names to be revealed in the future, which might include Holland’s Spider-Man. Check out the comment attached below.

A reputable scooper, Jeff Sneider, also allegedly revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that the studios have “nearly 50 names to announce.” Given, they announced only 27, this clarifies that they aren’t done with disclosing more names. As of yet, it remains unclear when the rest of the cast will be announced.
Even if Holland’s name is announced in the future, he won’t be there to perform some of the scenes, as reported by scooper Daniel Richtman. This is due to scheduling conflicts. He is currently filming Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey, which clashes with Doomsday’s production. The source claims that some of his scenes could therefore be performed by his stunt doubles.
Will Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man be in Avengers: Doomsday?
Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have not been announced for Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel is either keeping them for last-minute surprises or likely saving them for Secret Wars. This is because Avengers: Doomsday already has a star-studded cast, and introducing more story arcs could pose a narrative challenge.
