Exclusive First Look: Diamond Select TMNT D-Formz Blind Box PVCs

Every toy company wants a piece of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Regular action figure lines from Playmates, NECA, Super7, Mezco and more capture various aspects of the heroes in a half-shell. And just when you think every base has been covered, a new company will find a different approach. With Diamond Select‘s new D-Formz, fans can obtain the turtle teens in much more affordable form, at $8.99 apiece. Superhero Hype proudly offers the very first look at these new blind-boxed collectibles, based on the original comics.

From the official description: “What happens when mutants get deformed? You get a new assortment of D-Formz PVC figures based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! The green team clock in at 3 inches tall, each with their signature weapons, and they’re joined by their sensei Splinter and their mortal enemy Shredder! There are two of every character in the assortment, with two different versions of Shredder! Each figure comes packaged in a full-color blind box, in 12-box counter display. Designed by Barry Bradfield, sculpted by Rocco Tartamella!”

What’s most remarkable about these? Unlike so many similar blind-boxes, they don’t look overly cute. Their proportions may emphasize big heads, but they look like mini-ninjas who will stalk and slash you. Consider them more killer than kawaii. And preorders open starting this Friday at your favorite online and comic stores.
