Hot Toys Creates Original-Artwork Inspired Origins Iron Man Figure

When it comes to superhero costume designs, movie interpretations often create more sophisticated and detailed renditions. Often, they look enough like the classic look to be distinctive, but throw in many extra features. And yet in Hot Toys‘ latest collection, characters go back to basic designs, yet add even more details that the movies never could. The Origins Collection takes inspiration from old-school Marvel designs. Yet it updates them to something only modern toy manufacture could create. Naturally, Origins Iron Man is first, sporting a gold and yellow attire with transparent and metallic armor parts.

Furthermore, from the official description: “the highly detailed figure features a newly crafted helmet head with LED-light up function; intricate design of the Iron Man armor and structure illustrating its mechanical detail; carefully painted in red and gold coloring with a metallic appearance; crystal clear armor parts, interchangeable mask and armor parts for different styles of display; LED light-up functions scattered throughout the upper body, Arc Reactor on chest and palms; multiple pairs of interchangeable hands for iconic poses.”

And not just that. Upgrade to the deluxe version, and snag “a signature Iron Man suitcase with articulated function, also an elaborated diorama figure base with LED light-up function, allowing fans to explore Tony Stark’s high-tech workshop straight from the comic pages, includes articulated gantry arms, extra armor parts, and holographic screen accessories.”

It’s not cheap. All those extra parts along with the elaborate design runs $405. But payment plans are available, and delivery comes next summer.
