Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II Soundtrack is Coming To Vinyl

The original live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies helped expand the franchise in the early ‘90s. Now fans can snag yet another one of the films’ soundtracks on vinyl. Waxwork Records has revealed plans to release its own pressing of John Du Prez’s score for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. You can check out the label’s announcement, as well as the album artwork, below.

Aside from Du Prez’s score, The Secret of the Ooze also included songs by several popular artists of that era. Ya Kid K, Tribal House, and Spunkadelic all contributed songs to the film’s soundtrack. However, none of those songs were as memorable as “Ninja Rap” by Vanilla Ice, who also had a cameo in the movie. And yes, “Ninja Rap” will appear on Waxwork’s pressing as well.

The record marks Waxwork’s second TMNT-related release after pressing Du Prez’s score for the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film a few years ago. That album also featured exclusive artwork courtesy of Eastman. Unfortunately, it’s currently sold out on their website.

Waxwork has become a popular destination for bringing the soundtracks for new and classic films to vinyl. Some of the latest additions to their catalog include the scores for Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and last year’s Psycho Goreman. The label also just released a a $450 box set collecting every Godzilla soundtrack from the Showa Era.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II score will be available to order from Waxwork’s website starting this Friday.
