Titan Comics and Legendary Comics are partnering in the next chapter of the MonsterVerse saga with Return to Skull Island. Set in the same time as Netfilix’s Skull Island: The Animated Series, the comic will delve deeper into the the mysteries of the setting. It will also feature more kaiju battles, with King Kong taking center stage.
Return to Skull Island will be written by Transformers author Simon Furman, with art by Doctor Who artist Christopher Jones. The series follows a group of survivors who are stranded on the titular South Pacific island. As they explore the island, they will uncover dark secrets and face many challenges, including surviving an encounter with Kong himself.

Where is Return to Skull Island set in the MonsterVerse timeline?
The Return to Skull Island comic is set in 1993, concurrent with the events of Skull Island: The Animated Series. This makes the new comic series a prequel to most of the MonsterVerse films. Legendary Comics has produced an official timeline, which can be viewed below, showing the progression of the series to date.

Titan Comics editor Louis Yamani shared his excitement about the new comic series:
