The Predator franchise has crossed over into the Marvel Comics universe several times in recent years. One lone extraterrestrial sought to make Wolverine his prey. An entire party of the Yautja invaded Wakanda, barely repelled by Black Panther and his people. However, a preview of the upcoming Predator vs. Spider-Man reveals the darkest, deadliest hunter yet has their sights set on Peter Parker.
The titular villain of Predator vs. Spider-Man will be a member of the Yautja known only as “Skinner.” Brutal even by the standards of his alien race, Skinner is an outcast with no clan and no honor. This makes Skinner a perfect foil for the idealistic and honor-bound Peter Parker.

Predator vs. Spider-Man is new spin on a classic
While normally thought of as a friendly-neighborhood hero with kid-friendly comics, the Spider-Man comics have not been afraid to go as dark as the Predator franchise. This was most notable in the 80s and 90s, when Peter Parker had to contend with Venom and Carnage. Many a child first learned what a spleen was through Venom’s repeated threats to eat one. There have also been one-off mature stories, like Kraven’s Last Hunt. Within that context, a member of the Yautja fits right into Spidey’s world.

It’s so much fun to live in Peter Parker’s world and to put my own wild spin on his relationship with Mary Jane, J. Jonah Jameson, and (yes, oh, hell yes) Kraven. Marcelo Ferreira captures the visual dynamism of Spidey so well, and we’ve had a lot of fun designing a Predator that is unlike any other.”
