An official synopsis for Transformers #6 reads as follows: ā€œIn the arc-ending finale, ONE WILL STAND. ONE WILL FALL. The Autobots vs. The Decepticons. This is the first arc finale, and someone isnā€™t going to survive.ā€

Skyboundā€™s Transformers begins a new story arc in April

Johnsonā€™s Transformers launched in October 2023 as part of Image and Skyboundā€™s Energon Universe. After the first story arc wraps up in next monthā€™s issue #6, a new one will begin in Aprilā€™s issue #7. On that note, Transformers #7 will see Jorge Corona take over as the seriesā€™ main artist. Johnson will remain onboard as its writer.

ā€œItā€™s a rare breed of artist that can naturally bring an organic quality to things that are inherently mechanical, and Jorge is one of those chosen few,ā€ Johnson said previously. ā€œPrepare your eyes for a feast of brawn and beauty, my friends. This man draws a mean looking Soundwave. KA BAM!ā€

ā€œIt started with a ā€˜Do you want to work on a book with Daniel Warren Johnson?ā€™ and just in case that wasnā€™t a deafening ā€˜YES,ā€™ they added: ā€˜Itā€™s for the TRANSFORMERS bookā€™ ā€¦ Growing up with TRANSFORMERS and its many iterations expanded in many ways what a cartoon could do for me. Even though it had the classic good vs. evil premise, it also added malleability to what the characters could do in that world,ā€ Corona added.

ā€œBetrayals, regrets, self-doubts, were all emotions that drove these characters and it added a complexity that I wasnā€™t familiar with in other shows,ā€ the artist continued. ā€œFast forward to 30 years later and here I am seeing Danielā€™s take on the franchise, rooted in his love for the original Generation One version, and itā€™s like reliving those childhood memories multiplied by a thousand. I am very honored and humbled to be a part of this project and cannot wait to share all of the craziness thatā€™s coming up in the book.ā€

Transformers #6 goes on sale Wednesday, March 13 from Image Comics. Issue #7 follows suit on April 10.
