Superman, Lobo, Power Girl and More Star in May’s ‘House of Brainiac’ Comics

DC has detailed the books releasing as part of Action Comics‘ three-month “House of Brainiac” crossover arc this May.

“House of Brainiac” kicks off in April as the second arc of the “Superman Superstars” publishing initiative. That first month sees the release of Action Comics #1064, Superman #13, Power Girl #8, and Superman: House of Brainiac Special #1 (plus a tie-in story in Green Lantern #10).

The Burbank-based publisher has now shared the cover art and synopses for the “House of Brainiac” comics hitting stands in May. The arc’s second month gets underway with Action Comics #1065 by Joshua Williamson and Rafa Sandoval — on sale Tuesday, May 14. The issue features a main cover by Sandoval, plus variant covers by Jorge Jiménez, Paolo Rivera, Ivan Talavera, Mark Spears, and Mirko Colak.

Things continue on May 21 with Superman #14, also by Williamson and Sandoval. That issue features a main cover by Sandoval, as well as variants by Salvador Larroca, Dave Johnson, Carla Cohen, and Chuma Hill. Finally, May 28 sees the release of Power Girl #9 by Leah Williams, Eduardo Pansica, and Julio Ferreira. Yanick Paquette provides the main cover art, with Tony S. Daniel and David Talaski providing variants.

ACTION COMICS #1065

  • With Supes and “The Main Man” taking on Brainiac’s Czarnian army, it’s up to Supergirl and Connor Kent to stop Brainiac himself! It’s an impossible battle, but will the intervention by some unexpected (and deadly) allies make things better, or worse?
Rafa Sandoval

SUPERMAN #14

  • It takes a lot to anger Superman in even the direst of situations, so when Lobo betrays him, a partnership that’s shaky at best turns into a full-scale brawl that’s guaranteed to rattle entire planets! Even if they can stop punching each other long enough to save the day, it might be too late, because Brainiac has what he needs, and the Brainiac Queen is alive!

POWER GIRL #9

  • With the Czarnians seizing control of Power Girl’s Metropolis neighborhood, Crush offers herself up as a diplomat to reason with her unreasonable relatives. But these aliens are as corrupt as they are crude and decide they’ll just add Crush their growing number of hostages. Can Power Girl save the day solo, or will she fall prey to Goblin and intergalactic biker gang?

Action Comics #1065, Superman #14, and Power Girl #9 go on sale in May 2024 from DC. All three comics will be available for pre-order starting this Friday, February 16.
