What is Skybound’s Fire Power about?

Kirkman and Samnee’s Fire Power launched with a prelude graphic novel (and a special edition of issue #1) in July 2020. The series kicked off proper the following month. To date, Image has released 29 of the planned 30 issues — with the most recent one bowing in November 2023. Thus far, the first 24 issues have been collected across four trade paperback editions.

The series centers on Owen Johnson, wielder of the titular fire power, who is destined to save the world. Owen decided to turn his back on that life, instead opting to spend his days with his family. However, when Owen’s past comes back to haunt him, the reluctant superhero is forced to face his destiny.

Fire Power #30 goes on sale Wednesday, February 21 from Image Comics.
