The Skybound era of G.I. Joe has begun

The IDW Publishing era of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero came to an end with issue #300 in November 2022. The Image/Skybound era kicked off in November 2023 with G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #301.

Skybound picked up the publishing rights to both G.I. Joe and Transformers earlier this year. In addition to continuing with A Real American Hero, the company is also launching four new G.I. Joe limited series as part of its new Energon Universe. Things kick off later this month with Duke #1, followed by Cobra Commander #1 in January.

The Energon Universe kicked off this past June with the launch of Skybound’s Void Rivals. The series’ first issue featured a surprise appearance by the Transformer known as Jetfire. Skybound then launched its own new Transformers series in October.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #303 goes on sale January 17, 2024 from Image Comics.
