Exclusive Preview – Devil’s Reign #3

In the Marvel Universe, Wilson Fisk is the mayor of New York City. However, the Kingpin hasn’t gone legitimate, he’s just gotten more powerful. In the Devil’s Reign crossover, Fisk has finally made his move against NYC’s superheroes. The Avengers have gone underground, and at least two of the Fantastic Four have been captured. Even Ben Reilly, the clone masquerading as Spider-Man, has been arrested by the NYPD. Devil’s Reign #3. n X-Men #1.

However, the heroes of New York aren’t going to simply roll over for Fisk. For the first time since the aftermath of the superhero Civil War, the heroes have gone underground. Regardless, some of Spidey’s closest friends won’t let Ben rot behind bars.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Devil’s Reign #3, writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto pick up with Ben in custody. But perhaps he won’t be for long if the Thing and Human Torch have anything to say about it.

Here’s the official description from Marvel.

“New York City stands at the brink of disaster as MAYOR WILSON FISK has at last reached a breaking point, with an army of super villains at his back, and a deputized crew of super villainous THUNDERBOLTS on the streets and in every police station. Worse still, he’s put the Marvel Universe’s most powerful tools into (all six) hands of one of its most diabolical minds, unaware of the disaster that could befall the entire city as a result!

As a gauntlet of super villains stand between Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man and Daredevil and liberating the heroes who have been captured by Fisk’s law enforcement, they’re ALL about to learn that the danger is closer than they ever thought possible. Civilians, heroes, even children – NO ONE is safe from the Kingpin’s wrath.”
