Krypton’s Cameron Cuffe Praises Brandon Routh’s Superman

The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths event will unite the casts of every current Arrowverse series. But several actors are also coming back to reprise the DC roles they played several years ago. Veterans of Smallville, Superman Returns, Birds of Prey, and even the ‘60s Batman series are tagging along for the ride. However, one DC adaptation that won’t be included is Krypton. The Superman prequel was recently cancelled after two seasons on SYFY. Although he wasn’t asked to make an appearance, Krypton star Cameron Cuffe seems pumped for the crossover. In fact, he expressed his support with a special shout-out to Brandon Routh.

Cuffe starred on Krypton as Superman’s grandfather, Seg-El. And when he caught a glimpse of the first look at Routh as a Kingdom Come-inspired Superman, Cuffe reacted like a proud grandfather. Routh replied with a cheeky comment of his own. You can check out their exchange via Twitter below.

Aside from Routh reprising his Superman Returns role, Crisis will also boast cameos from Tom Welling (Smallville) as another Clark Kent and Ashley Scott (Birds of Prey) as Huntress. Burt Ward is confirmed to have a part in the crossover as well. However, it isn’t clear if he’ll be suiting up as Robin from Batman ‘66 again or if he’s playing an entirely different character.

Krypton has ended, but Cuffe may have a major big-screen role lined up for the future. He’s reportedly auditioning to play Prince Eric in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

Crisis on Infinite Earths kicks off with an episode of Supergirl on Sunday, December 8.
