Exclusive Preview: Aquaman #52

The Aquaman lives! Arthur Curry’s memories have been restored, but he’s not happy with what he’s learned. It was presumed that Aquaman was lost during the Drowned Earth event. But the truth is that Arthur died at Mera’s hands when she lost control of her powers during a lovers quarrel. Now, the estranged partners aren’t sure they want to see each other as Mera’s wedding date approaches. In the interim, Aquaman has bigger problems.

After returning to Amnesty Bay alongside the Old Gods of the sea, Arthur’s new friends were told about a local legend. A very Lovecraft-like writer named Tristram Maurer once manned a light house in Amnesty Bay before his otherworldly monster claimed him. Now that the Old Gods have moved into the same spot, Maurer’s monster has returned.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Aquaman #52, Kelly Sue DeConnick and artist Robson Rocha pick up where they left off. Aquaman personally leads the charge against the monster, but even his powers pale in comparison to this beast. Also in this issue, Black Manta’s deal with Lex Luthor may give him back his father. However, even Black Manta will come to dread the terrible price that he has to pay.
