Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni recently compared Ahsoka Season 2 to an Odyssey-like adventure. In a recent interview, Filoni shed light on what fans can expect from the upcoming season of the Star Wars show. During the interview, he compared the second season to a classic mythological movie that shares several qualities with Christopher Nolan’s latest box office hit.
Dave Filoni says Ahsoka Season 2 will be like Jason and the Argonauts movie
While speaking with On the Red Carpet at this year’s D23, Dave Filoni teased that Star Wars fans will see elements of the classic Greek mythology movie Jason and the Argonauts in Ahsoka Season 2.
“For me, this is a grand adventure in the sense of stories I grew up watching,” he told reporters at the Disney event. “I’d say it’s no short thing to say. There’s maybe a little Jason and the Argonauts feeling to it.” He further added, “The adventure is bigger and better. It’s the simplest way to say it. And a big part for me, I love the people I work with in every discipline, and I’m so proud of the work they do. And I’m a firm believer that that shows up on screen, and so hopefully that’s what people are feeling as well.”
Filoni’s statements about Ahsoka Season 2’s epic scale seem to fit with actor Eman Esfandi’s earlier description of the upcoming season. While talking to GamesRadar+ at the event, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day star noted, “There’s going to be more lightsabers. A lot more lightsaber action. There’s going to be some space battles, some space action, and there’s going to be witches, and swords, and explosions galore. It’s going to be really fun, really fast-paced.”
Ahsoka Season 2 is on track to premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027.
