Kathryn Hahn has commented on the possibility of returning as Agatha Harkness in the MCU. The actress first appeared in 2021’s WandaVision, and reprised the role as the lead in 2024’s Agatha All Along. Following the latter’s finale, Agatha has not returned to live-action MCU projects.
During an interview with Matt Izzo at D23, Hahn was asked whether Agatha Harkness would return to the MCU. “I mean, I want to. I have no idea, but I sure would love it,” said the American actress, keeping the hope alive for fans who want to see her reprise the role.
While the character debuted as an antagonist in WandaVision, Agatha’s role was expanded in her spin-off. The series ended with Agatha and Billy Maximoff setting out on a new adventure to find the latter’s brother, Tommy.
What else is Kathryn Hahn known for besides playing Agatha Harkness in the MCU?
Agatha is not the only role Hahn has played in recent years. In 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Hahn voiced Dr. Olivia Octavius, a variant of Dock Ock. Outside of the Marvel universe, Hahn has appeared in several films such as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Fixed. Her most prominent role in recent years has been in Apple TV’s The Studio, where she played Maya Mason, the marketing lead of Continental Studios. Hahn is expected to reprise the role in The Studio season 2.
The actress will next be seen in Madden, releasing later this year. Following that, Hahn has been cast as Mother Gothel in the live-action remake of Tangled, which releases in 2028.
The third chapter in the WandaVision trilogy, VisionQuest, is scheduled to premiere later this year. The upcoming show will focus on White Vision learning about his past and potentially reuniting with one of his sons. Marvel has not officially commented on whether Agatha or Wanda will return in the show.
