A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 updates leave fans relieved. The Game of Thrones spin-off’s first season aired on 18 January 2016, and the production for Season 2 was greenlit. However, not long ago, the showrunner stated that production had been halted due to bad weather.
However, good news was recently shared by Peter Claffey on his Instagram story. The star shared a video of a hurling stick with the engraving “The Hedge Knight” on it. He also captioned the post, “The greatest wrap gift I’ve ever received,” and thanked the costume department.
This story indicated that the production for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 was completed.
The Game of Thrones offshoot’s showrunner Ira Parker explained that the cast and crew faced severe weather disruptions while filming in Spain’s Canary Islands. The filming location was chosen because the second novel by George R.R. Martin takes place during a drought.
However, it was hit by unprecedented flooding, which was declared a national emergency and caused the shoot to stall multiple times.
What else do we know about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2?
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s second novel, The Sworn Sword.
The new season will follow the friendship of Ser Duncan the Tall and his diminutive squire, Egg. The official synopsis reads, “Set over a year later during a severe drought in the Reach, Dunk and Egg enter the service of an elderly minor lord, Ser Eustace Osgrey, and mediate a tense local water dispute with his powerful neighbor, Lady Rohanne Webber.”
In the show, Claffey will reprise his role as Ser Duncan the Tall, and Dexter Sol Ansell returns as Egg. Lucy Boynton, Peter Mullan, and Babou Ceesay will join as new cast members in Season 2. The update by Claffey comes as a relief for fans, since Season 2 is expected to premiere on its initially set date around the first half of 2027.
