Marvel is bringing back Magik for an all-new X-Men adventure, and this time she teams up with rival sorceress Madelyne Pryor. Joined by Juggernaut, the rival duo must fight a dangerous demon that has escaped Limbo.
Marvel announced a new Magik limited series titled X-Orcists on August 10. The new five-issue limited series is written by Ashley Allen and illustrated by Germán Peralta. The creative team previously helmed Magik (2025) and Magik & Colossus (2026) and is reunited for Magik’s third chapter.
Magik’s popularity has taken a surge recently with high-profile video game appearances like Marvel Rivals and Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Her new ongoing solo comic book series brings her into the spotlight again.
What else do we know about the new Magik and X-Men limited series?
Allen will write the X-Orcists series while Germán Peralta will provide the artwork. The story begins when a rogue demon breaks loose from Limbo (a hell-like, magical pocket dimension filled with demons), and starts to terrorize both humans and mutants alike.
To stop its destructive actions, Magik (Illyana Rasputin) must form an unlikely squad with fellow X-Men Juggernaut and Madelyne Pryor, the current Queen of Limbo. Together, the trio must confront the dangerous demon before its rampage can unravel mutant magic.
The official synopsis for X-Orcists reads, “When a demon escapes Limbo and begins terrorizing humans and mutants alike, Magik and Juggernaut of the X-Men team up with Madelyne Pryor, the Queen of Limbo, to take it down. But this demon is unlike anything they’ve ever seen before, and they’re going to need help to stop its ruinous rampage.”
Allen said the series will continue her exploration of Magik and explore the character’s relationship with Madelyne. The writer added, “I’m excited for fans to see these two characters reclaim their power, evolve from their pasts, and discover what it means to truly wield themselves.”
Peralta also explained that the new comic will explore “the mystical and dark side of the mutant world.”
X-Orcists Issue #1 will hit comic shops on November 18, 2026, with covers by Ben Harvey, Dike Ruan, and Russell Dauterman already revealed.
