Venom: The Last Dance is leaving Netflix next month

Tom Hardy’s $478 million alien sci-fi blockbuster is leaving Netflix next month. Specifically, according to What’s on Netflix, Netflix will remove Venom: The Last Dance from its platform on August 25, 2026, meaning subscribers have less than a month to catch the film before it disappears for good.

Kelly Marcel wrote and directed Venom: The Last Dance, which premiered in U.S. theaters on October 25, 2024. The film concludes Sony’s Venom trilogy, serving as the final installment following Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021).

The film follows Eddie Brock and Venom as government forces and powerful creatures from the symbiote home world pursue them. While searching for a way to escape, they become entangled in a larger conflict involving the deadly Xenophages and the imprisoned symbiote creator Knull. As the threat grows, Eddie and Venom must make a life-changing decision.

In terms of cast, Tom Hardy leads the film as Eddie Brock / Venom. Other cast members include Chiwetel Ejiofor as General Rex Strickland, Juno Temple as Dr. Theodora “Teddy” Paine, Rhys Ifans as Martin Moon, Stephen Graham as Patrick Mulligan, and Peggy Lu as Mrs. Chen, among others.

As for its reception, critical response was mixed following the film’s release. On Rotten Tomatoes, Venom: The Last Dance holds a 40 percent critics’ score based on 219 reviews. Meanwhile, audiences responded more favorably, giving it a 79 percent audience score. Commercially, the film generated $478.9 million worldwide. According to Box Office Mojo, the total includes more than $139 million from domestic theaters and over $339 million from international markets.
