Spider-Man’s Ramrod Star Reveals His Full Villain Suit & ‘Cut’ Characters’ Detail

Actor Billy Clements, who plays villain Ramrod in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, took to social media to unveil the character’s suit and details. He says several of his scenes aren’t in the final version of the movie.

Ramrod actor reveals a lot of his scenes were cut from Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Clements shared photos and a video of himself in Ramrod’s suit on Instagram. In the caption, he wrote, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day Playing Ramrod out now! So amazing to play another Marvel comic book character,” noting that he previously played Russian in Deadpool & Wolverine.

He added, “I love comics and to own a comic where you’re on the front cover to me is so so so cool.” This is a reference to the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #221, which Brand New Day recreates. In the issue, Spider-Man takes on Ramrod, an obscure member of his iconic rogue gallery.

Although Clements said that most of his scenes aren’t in the final movie, he amended that “more recognized” members of the cast experienced something similar. “A lot of Ramrod’s stuff was cut, but when they had to cut out 3 hours, and a lot more recognised actors were totally cut out, so really happy to be there if only for a bit,” Clements explained.

Further, the 41-year-old actor candidly stated that he wanted to do his best to accurately represent the character. He even revealed that he had studied “all” of Ramrod’s appearances in the comics and trained for two hours daily.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a massive production with a considerable number of supporting characters. So, it makes sense that director Destin Daniel Cretton and his team left significant footage on the cutting room floor to keep the movie both cohesive and briskly paced.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day premieres in US theaters on July 31, 2026.
