A new rumor is circulating that Margot Robbie is allegedly being eyed for a superhero role. The actress last played Harley Quinn in some DC films and is now reportedly being targeted for a different role.
Marvel rumored to be eyeing Margot Robbie for a big role
A new rumor suggests that Marvel is eyeing Robbie for a big role. This comes from scooper MyTimetoShineHello, who claimed on X (formerly Twitter) that she is under consideration, writing, “Margot Robbie is in talks for a big Marvel role.”
However, official reports or information concerning this are not available. Accordingly, this is nothing more than mere speculation. Notably, she has not yet commented on the possibility of appearing in the superhero franchise.
The Australian actress was earlier reportedly offered the role of Sue Storm a.k.a. the Invisible Woman for Marvel’s Fantastic Four reboot, First Steps. However, she eventually ended up turning it down. This resulted in the part eventually going to Vanessa Kirby, who will return as the character in Avengers: Doomsday.
However, this was not the first Fantastic Four reboot she turned down. Previously, she passed over the opportunity to appear in the 2015 reboot helmed by Josh Trank. In an interview with the NY Daily News, she attributed the decision to not resonating with the script.
“I didn’t really resonate with the script, and I haven’t seen the movie, so I don’t really know how it turned out different from the page,” the Barbie actress recalled. “But I had a great meeting with the director [Josh Trank], and I really enjoyed that. I guess it’s part of the game: Sometime you win some, sometimes you lose some.”
Furthermore, the 35-year-old was also reportedly linked to another major Marvel character in 2022 (via GiantFreakinRobot). She was speculated to be in talks to play Emma Frost, an enemy-turned-ally and member of the X-Men. It’s currently unclear whether Robbie will join the MCU anytime soon.
