What Happened To Tyler in Wednesday? Recap Before Watching Season 2

The second season of Wednesday is set to bring back all the thrills from the first season, including the mysterious Hyde, Tyler Galpin. The entire first season revolved around the mystery of who this Hyde was. The finale revealed it to be Tyler.

But what ultimately happened to Tyler, and where will he be in the second season of Wednesday?

Tyler’s big reveal in Wednesday explained

The entire story of Wednesday season 1 revolved around the Hyde. In the final episode, the show revealed that Hunter Doohan’s Tyler was the infamous creature. It turned out that Marilyn Thornhill was using Tyler to do her bidding by using his Hyde form, which had supernatural strength and powers.

Thornhill used Tyler to kill the outcasts in Wednesday throughout the season. Tyler ultimately came face-to-face with Wednesday in the final episode. But Enid interrupted the Hyde in her Werewolf form and managed to defeat the Hyde.

The series last showed Tyler being taken away in an armored car, away from the Nevermore Academy.

The trailer for the second season of the show has already given a glimpse of where Tyler is.

Why is Tyler in chains in Wednesday Season 2?

After he was taken away in the armored car at the end of the first season, it seems that he is being held in chains at Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital in an isolated room in season 2. The trailer teased this as it depicted Wednesday’s vision. In the vision, Tyler also seemed exhausted.

But this does not mean he is not dangerous. Rather, Tyler is kept in chains because he is still too unpredictable and dangerous. Without the additional security, i.e., tying him up completely, there is a good chance that he may flee and harm others. With the overbearing strength Tyler possesses in his Hyde form, it would be easy to escape the facility.

Either way, Tyler remains a threat, and as the Wednesday season 2 trailer indicates, may play a big part in the new season, too.

Wednesday season 2 will premiere on August 6, 2025, on Netflix.
