Star Wars Battlefront II Adds a Four-Player Mode In New Update

While all eyes are on EA’s latest Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, updates are still coming for its previous release, Star Wars: Battlefront II. DICE recently posted details about a new update available for the game; which is set to arrive tomorrow. Details about the free update are included in the video below. But first, here’s a quick rundown of what will come to the game.

A new Co-Op mode will allow up to four players to team up together to take on objectives while fighting off against AI opponents. Additionally, a new Star Wars themed Instant Action mode will also be available. This mode gives players the ability to jump into “offline, large-scale combat against AI foes in scuffles to control a majority of the command posts across the map.”

“Both modes launch on Clone Wars era locations with AI controlled troopers, reinforcements, and heroes. Hone your skills, have fun with your friends, or just lean back and enjoy larger-than-life Star Wars battles without the fierce competition from human players,” noted DICE in its latest update.

A new Felucia map will also arrive in Star Wars: Battlefront II. It offers tranquil views with “farmlands” and “pouring rivers.” However, it will also include poisonous plants that explode gas. There’s also a Sarlacc pit as well. “Don’t fall down,” the team advises.

The Clone Commando from Star Wars: The Clone Wars is also joining the ranks. Wielding a DC-17m Repeating Blaster Rifle and a repulsor with a powerful shockwave, they’re lethal in battle. They also have a special Battle Focus Ability with a damage reduction buff for nearby allies, which in turn can also heal their energy as well. DICE considers them an “all-round powerhouse on the battlefront.”
