ComingSoon.net's live blog of the Walt Disney Studios Comic-Con panel revealed that the studio screened the first teaser for director Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and starring Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter.
Here's the rundown of the quick tease:
The focus is on the railroad, working a train into the Bruckheimer logo
A voice explains that the train will change the American west and that it represents a brand-new power
We see flashes of Tonto and the Ranger with Depp's voice:
"There comes a time, kemosabe, when a good man must wear a mask."
One of the final shots is Tonto clinging to the bottom of the train and we see "NOW IN PRODUCTION" with the film's logo.
The Lone Ranger is scheduled to hit theaters on July 3, 2013.
