ComingSoon.net talked to 20th Century Fox Chairman and CEO Tom Rothman at the Gotham Independent Film Awards last night and he said that they want Matthew Vaughn back to direct the sequel to X-Men: First Class in addition to getting Rupert Wyatt to direct the Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequel.
"Both of them were really great scripts and so we have to be sure to get great scripts again," Rothman said. "We're working hard on the scripts for both of them, but we have every hope of moving forward with them."
The studio has not yet set a release date for the "First Class" follow-up.
