R.I.P.D. Gets a Release Date

Now that they've cast Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as the two principals, Universal Pictures have scheduled Robert (Red) Schwentke's adaptation of the Dark Horse Comics mini-series R.I.P.D. (short for "Rest in Peace Department") for June 28, 2013, according to Deadline.

Published in 2000, the four-issue mini-series by Pete Lenkov and Lucas Marangon follows Nick Cruz, a murdered man who signs up for the R.I.P.D. to help enforce the law amidst the city's undead community.

No word on when or where they might start filming.
