The Trailer for Priest Hits

Opening in theaters on May 13

Screen Gems has debuted the trailer for director Scott Stewart's Priest, starring Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Lily Collins, Steven Moyer, Brad Dourif and Christopher Plummer.

In the big screen adaptation, opening in 3D and 2D on May 13, a warrior priest (Bettany) disobeys Church law by teaming with a young sheriff (Gigandet) and a beautiful priestess (Q). The three band together to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped the priest's niece before they turn her into one of them.

@ Paul, thats what i was thinking. the city looked like it had been based on MegaCity 1. shows a real creative edge there. i imagine this is what Judge Dredd will look like but darker and less vampires.

It seems that everyone is doing what I call the "Underworld" shot, wherein the ninja style darts are launched into the air, grabbed and thrown, all done in slow-motion action. "Resident Evil" did the same shot slow-motion shot. There were also two other movies that I remember seeing that did the same shot.

Also, for a second there, I could have sworn Karl Urban was Clint Eastwood (a young Clint). I could actually see him in a remake of "A Fistfull of Dollars"
