Goldman Also Working on the X-Men: First Class Script

Last week, it was made official that Matthew Vaughn is going to direct X-Men: First Class for 20th Century Fox. It was revealed then that Thor co-writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz would do a few rewrites on the script with plans to start making the movie this summer for a June 3, 2011 release.

It looks like they won't be the only ones working on the script, however. Jonathan Ross tweeted today that his wife, Jane Goldman "is away writing X Men 4 so I am off to bed with little Sweeney alone." That was followed by "Also, for those who need to know, my wife IS currently writing X men First Class. It's just referred to as X men 4 around the house..." Goldman co-wrote the scripts for Stardust and Kick-Ass with Vaughn. She also co-produced the latter.

We're guessing Vaughn, Goldman, Miller and Stentz are all working together to lock down the shooting script so that they can get going considering the release date next summer.

X-Men: First Class, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Ugh, will this be a reboot or what? And I highly doubt the two actors will reprise their roles anyway. They're just too d**n old.

they should just reboot the serious ..and start from there..wolverine sucked and x3 sort of sucked..look at how marvel is running those characters and take notes.. like make wolverine sh*e into the xmen like iron man did the avengers...

I REALLY hope "X-Men: First Class" is a reboot. Reason being if they try to fit it in the timelines & characters that were set in the other X-Men movies then it won't go for it's true potential. It will limit itself. With a reboot we can get unknown actors, which won't take up chunks upof the budget, a fresh new start with a better, CLOSER story to the comics, & just a WAAAY better X-Men movie that we long deserve.

Hi Fans... dont think that because im just producing and directing another movie, i wont take my time to RUIN THIS MOVIE FOR YOU!!!!! :)

i like xmen 1 and 2 the first time i saw in the theater then i really saw it and it was like when i saw tim burton's batman as a child and batman begins as an adult. i think you will understand... lol i really hope they start again and this time concetrate in making a good movie not just money... whats the point of make 4 xmen movies if none of them deserve to even buy it?

this is not a reboot, it's a prequel.
