The CW to Air Supergirl Season One Ahead of Season Two Premiere

The CW announced today it will broadcast the Supergirl Season One on Monday nights starting August 1, with two episodes each week until the new season of the series premieres on October 10. 

Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl as the title character alongside Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater.

The second season of Supergirl is already set to include former Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter as the President of the United States and Everybody Wants Some! actor Tyler Hoechlin as the Man of steel himself, Superman.

Based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Supergirl is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Arrow”), Ali Adler (“The New Normal,” “Glee”), Andrew Kreisberg (“The Flash,” “Arrow”) and Sarah Schechter (“Arrow,” “The Flash”).

Supergirl will air Mondays at 8/7c p.m. on The CW.
