Ray Wise Joins X-Men: First Class

Actor Ray Wise has revealed to IGN that he has a role in X-Men: First Class, which has been shooting for a quite a while.

"I’m playing the Secretary of State of the United States. I’ll be going over there in the next couple of weeks," Wise said. Asked if his scenes would involve any big special effects, he replied, "Well, I think I touch on them, yeah, a bit."

X-Men: First Class, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, the film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Jones, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Zoe Kravitz, Bill Bilner. It opens in theaters on June 3, 2011.
