Joe Quesada Has Seen Iron Man 2

December 09, 2009
And talks about a Captain America script meeting
More interesting bits came from the Twitter account of Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada today. First of all, he's already seen Iron Man 2... yup!

Back in LA and just saw a rough cut of Iron Man 2. I worship before the alter of the mighty Favreau, he is da man!

And just minutes later he posted the following on The First Avenger: Captain America...

Did I forget to mention an AMAZING Cap script meeting? Actually I did. I work here and these movies can't come out fast enough for me.

Which raises the question, how can we be Joe Quesada for a day? Perhaps he should hold a contest. Hey, schools let students be principal for a day sometimes, right?!

Like the Editor-in-Chief of Marvel would say it was anything BUT good.

Hopefully this is real satisfaction with the film, and not just studio head speak because he HAS to be happy with the movie. The first Iron Man was great, hope what happened to EVERY other Marvel franchise so far (they turned into crap) doesn't happen to this one early on.

Hopefully Iron Man 2 will be as good as the first movie. Of course what do we expect Joe to say, that the movie is bad? RDJ did a great job with Tony Stark the first time around i hope his take this time might be a tad darker but still keep some of the light hearted banter and tone of the first movie.

I'm all about the Cap movie, he's my favorite superhero and he's been long overdue for a good movie. I just wish they would drop the whole "The First Avenger" thing. It sucks and is unnecessary. They don't really need to remind us about the connection to the Avengers. We know. Just let Captain America stand on its own as a title. I want to see these movies really bad and have faith that they will be great. I just hate the add-on to the title.

Joe Quesada is an idiot. "One More Day". Does anything else need to be said? With that, Iron Man 2 looks incredible. War Machine, Mickey Rourke as Whiplash, Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow (have you seen the pictures? Oh my lord....). If anyone knows about Favreau's dedication to the source material, and with the cast we have here, it can't be bad. And I agree with 'DeadNotSleeping', they should leave the Avenger reference out of the Cap movie, it's not necessary.

When are we going to get a Heroes for Hire movie? Blade meets Bruce Lee. All I have seen so far is the commercial success of a would be toy line. Come on Marvel, Step it up a notch!

why not replace "the first avenger" headline with "sentinel of liberty" that at least sounds better
