#9 Black Panther (T'Challa)
We already know this character somehow escaped Fox's deal for the Fantastic Four--which actually would have been a good way of introducing him--and there's been talk by Marvel about wanting to make a movie based on T'Challa, the King of Wakanda who also takes on the role of that country's greatest hero, the Black Panther.
The reasons for him becoming a great addition to the movie Avengers are pretty obvious, because let's face it, other than the Hulk, the current Avengers roster is very, very white. I honestly don't know what African-American and Hispanic comic book fans get out of seeing a movie with so many white guys and women in it, but introducing T'Challa to the mix would be so easy. You have this team of superheroes and other than Thor, they're all Americans, and that can't bode well for other countries who'll see this new superteam as a threat. King T'Challa shows up at S.H.I.E.L.D. to let his pal Nick Fury know how unhappy his country is that they're not represented and you suddenly have a new Avenger who adds strength and speed as well as a regal presence.
Who should play the Black Panther? There are a lot of great African-American actors out there but we'd go straight to Anthony Mackie, who already has history with Jeremy Renner from The Hurt Locker so the chemistry would be ready to go. (And if they can't get a Black Panther movie together, then we'll take Cage as a second choice!)
