The Last Airbender is still a go
Despite previous reports that it was a done deal, it doesn't look like Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios will be airing a Super Bowl spot for Iron Man 2 on Sunday. Variety says:
Paramount is buying ads to tubthump "Shutter Island" and M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender." It had three spots last year for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," "Star Trek" and "G.I. Joe." Studio decided not to run an ad for Marvel's "Iron Man 2." We're guessing we'll see a new trailer soon though, considering the May 7 release is creeping closer. Source: Variety Read more about:

There aren't that many big movies this year other than Iron Man II anyway. They will all be the next two years. This year is boring movie wise. Report Abuse

no. that is odd..Iron Man had more publicity.
Maybe since they put that last trailer out there a few months ago-may have put to much out already..though it gives me the willies if they are at odds with it already..do not trust Paramount... Report Abuse

agreed...this looks to be a sucky year for movies and the summer doesn't look that exciting...i think march has better movies coming out than the entire summer...all i see this summer as having potential is Iron Man 2 and Inception
come on...where are the blockbusters??? you call Sex and the City 2 and Twilight Eclipse summer fare? please....two of the worst franchises out there...boring and cheesy....i guess hollywood decided to make this summer a summer for the ladies...the gender with the poorer taste in movies...we'll see if they make that decision again when hollywood's box office revenue declines...
maybe next year will be better with thor, transformers 3 and such...
regardless, im looking forward to movies like clash of the titans, alice in wonderland, iron man 2, inception, toy story 3....not a big list...i guess its ok so i can save some $$$ not having to go to the movies every other weekend Report Abuse

I think this is the studio's way of saying "leave them wanting more" they know this is gonna be a huge hit this summer because the lineup is ......well it's not that good! They know they have our money and that we will stand in line to see it! why waste money on a sure fire hit! Report Abuse
