Goulekas, Houston and Berney on board
Variety reports that Warner Bros. Pictures has tapped Sony Pictures Imageworks as the lead visual effects studio for Green Lantern.
The VFX supervisors on the Martin Campbell-directed comic book adaptation are Karen Goulekas (The Day After Tomorrow) and Kent Houston (Edge of Darkness, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus). Jim Berney (I Am Legend) will be VFX supervisor for Imageworks. Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard star in the film, scheduled to hit theaters on June 17, 2011. day after tomorrow had great fx routed in realism, I AM LEGEND did not....this could go either way. i guess i can't judge either way till i see some clips or something. i'll see it either way though Report Abuse

Still confused as to why Ryan Reynolds has been cast for this. He would make the perfect wally west. Hal Jordan is a bore. For some reason I just feel this movie is going to fall apart, but then again it might and Ryan Reynolds might bring that certain as the french would say "i dont know what" to the film to make it work. The fire fly, I agree that ryan reynolds would be awesome wally west, however he wouldn't be a bad hal jordan. My assumption is producers will go for barry allen as the flash and not wally. Barry allen is back to comics and taking over the flash series. I think this movie would be good. I would like to see Kyle Rayner as torchbearer and Guy Gurdner as his partner with Kilowog. They are fun characters. At least Ryan Reynolds will bring attention to green lantern. Report Abuse

This movie has a GREAT team, nearly flawless. I have faith in this one. Ryan is a good actor and is naturally funny so I doubt that this movie will be a bore. I'm looking for this movie to surpass the Superman movies, possibly pushing Superman to 3rd in top DC Heroes (Batman being 1st of course). Green Lantern has EPIC written all over it. Report Abuse

green lantern and thor are my most anticipated superhero movies, the fx i imagine will be f ckin astounding...as long as they don't jump on the 3D bandwagon...please don't do that, good movies don't need that bullsh t gimmick Report Abuse
