Spider-Man 3 Soundtrack Update

Record Collection released this new announcement about the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack:

As previously announced, Record Collection will release the original soundtrack to “Spider-Man 3,” one of the most anticipated album and film events of the summer. Featuring all new, exclusive music, the album is scheduled for release on May 1, 2007, and is already garnering huge attention due in part to tremendous radio visibility from the first single “Signal Fire,” by Glasgow-based stars Snow Patrol.

A Limited Edition Soundtrack package will also be available and will contain a 32-page embossed hard-cover book featuring stills from the movie and 5 collectable movie cards housed inside an 8″x8″ box made from a replica of the rubberized Spider-Man suit. Additionally, this version will also contain a bonus track by The Flaming Lips titled, “Theme From Spider-Man.” This special package is available online only at: www.spiderman3soundtrack.com.

Into vinyl? The album will be available in 4 different collectable picture discs enclosed in clear gatefold sleeves. Images from the film will be pressed on one side of the vinyl. These will be limited to 1,000 numbered edition pressings of each. A standard double album in a gatefold sleeve will be available as well. Details of where and when fans can purchase the limited vinyl editions to be announced shortly.

In the meantime, the second single to be featured from the soundtrack will be “Red River,” by The Walkmen. A video for the track will be filmed this week. “Red River” will impact radio waves on April 24th. The Walkmen are on tour now. Check www.walkmen.com for details.
