Trailmark Games has announced an exciting update for handheld gaming and TMNT fans. The publisher has revealed an expanded version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants, coming to Nintendo Switch 2. The new version is called the Ninja Edition and will add performance improvements and exclusive characters.
The game has been available on many platforms for almost two years. However, the Ninja Edition marks its first release on the Switch 2. It adds Master Splinter and Casey Jones as playable characters for the first time, who can be used in solo and local co-op.

Casey Jones isn’t the only new addition in TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants Ninja Edition
Besides the new characters, TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants Ninja Edition also adds many quality-of-life features on Switch 2. These include 1080p resolution output in handheld and 4K resolution in docked mode, 60 FPS performance, faster loading times, and HDR support. The new edition also adds increased graphical fidelity with new reflection effects, enhanced anti-aliasing, lighting, and dynamic shadows.
The trailer shows all the new additions, starting with playing on an actual arcade machine. It gives fans a fresh look at Casey Jones and Splinter’s movement and abilities in combat across various arenas.
It’s not the only TMNT game to get a major update, as TMNT: Splintered Fate also received a major update earlier this month. Fans of the franchise can look forward to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 releasing next year.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants – Ninja Edition will be released on September 4, 2026, on the Nintendo eShop. Those who want the physical version will have to wait till October 9, 2026. It is available to pre-order starting today for $29.99 on the Nintendo eShop and other retailers.
