Daybreak Game Company and Cold Iron Studios have dropped a new Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 trailer. It showcases the game’s co-op experience in action. The upcoming sequel arrives over five years after the original shooter and will add a new class and game modes. It also expands upon the original squad-based gameplay with four-player teams.
In the newly released co-op gameplay showcase video, fans can see a squad of Colonial Marines trying to survive and fight against the deadly xenomorphs. The video shows off the game’s upgraded lighting and punchier sound design. The action appears much faster-paced than the original title, with plenty of opportunities for players to strategize attacks with different weapons. The trailer also shows off gameplay from the new Horde mode, where teams need to survive several waves of enemies that include more than simple xenomorphs.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 editions, DLC, and Switch 2 release details
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will be released in two editions with additional DLC:
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Digital Standard Edition – $49.99
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 – 40th Anniversary Premium Edition – $69.99
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Premium Edition DLC Upgrade – $19.99
- Rain’s Jackson’s Star Pack – $9.99
The 40th Anniversary Edition includes two DLC packs: Ripley’s Hive Exterminator Pack and Herk Mondo’s Pest Pack. The former lets players customize their character with Ellen Ripley’s outfit and gear from the film. The second pack includes an outfit based on Herk Mondo, the comic book character.
As the name suggests, The Rain pack includes the outfit worn by Cailee Spaeny’s character in 2024’s Alien: Romulus, along with her modified pulse rifle and exclusive decals. The developers also announced that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this fall. No exact release date was given for its Switch 2 port.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will be released on August 25, 2026, on PC, PS5, and XBOX Series X|S.
