All week long, Game Informer has been sharing new footage from Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Now their latest sneak peek confirms that a fan-favorite character from Spider-Man PS4 is returning in next month’s follow-up. The magazine has just shared a clip where Peter Parker and Miles Morales encounter a very festive-looking J. Jonah Jameson.
We’ve known for a while that Miles Morales takes place around Christmas, so it makes sense that at least one of the game’s stages takes place in a mall that’s decked out in holiday cheer. Unfortunately for shoppers, this stage features Rhino, who has absolutely no respect for seasonal decorations. Miles grabs hold of the villain’s back and rides him like a bull as he smashes through one Christmas display after another. It just so happens that Jameson is also there to record a new episode of his Just the Facts podcast…and he’s even dressed like Santa Claus.
Spider-Man PS4 previously established that J. Jonah Jameson stepped down from running The Daily Bugle to launch his radio show. Throughout the game, Peter would tune into his broadcasts and listen to whatever Spidey-related grievances his former boss had to air that day. But in Miles Morales, players will actually get to see Jameson in the flesh. Right as he’s practicing soundbites for his show, Rhino and not one, but two Spider-Men burst into his studio. The destruction results in another unhinged tirade from what looks like the angriest Santa we’ve ever seen.
According to Game Informer, writer Christos Gage returned from the first game specifically to pen JJJ’s lines in Miles Morales. The video’s narrator also notes that Miles actor Nadji Jeter worked with several coaches to nail his Nuyorican dialogue during scenes where Miles talks to his mother.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available for Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 on November 12.
