Recently, HBO presented a new look at the Hogwarts House Crests to celebrate the publication anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The overhaul has a minimalistic design in comparison to the books and the movies.
The newly revealed house crests will appear in the live-action TV show, set for a premiere later this year. However, avid Harry Potter fans are not impressed with this change.

Many angry fans took to social media after witnessing the new design for Hogwarts House Crests ahead of the Harry Potter TV show. Many have called out the makers for ditching the traditional designs from the books.
One user, named @allhaertmello, pointed out the lack of shading in the latest designs and wrote, “The silver in this image looks golden, which is horrible. I hope it comes out in better quality.”
Another fan, @Diagon_Digest, echoed similar sentiments and urged the makers to use the older design of the house crests. They wrote, “Older ones look way better! When you think of crests, the originals are the ones you think of. Coat of arms and everything.”
One more user, @WizardofRedHill, agreed wholeheartedly and chimed in, “The new ones are the informal version.” One ardent Harry Potter fan, @Christine_Daae5, expressed huge disappointment and lashed out at the redesigned logos by saying, “You are kidding? For goodness sake, if it’s not broke!”
Harry Potter TV show’s leading cast involves Dominic McLaughlin in the titular role alongside Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Francesca Gardiner is the showrunner, with director Mark Mylod serving as the executive producer.
